Four Corners
Four Corners promotes critical thinking by requiring students to defend their positions, broadens understanding through exposure to different perspectives, builds communication skills through peer discussions, and provides immediate feedback to inform instruction.
When to use:
Ethical dilemmas
Controversial issues
Class discussion
Steps:
1. Present a statement or question with multiple response options, each
corresponding to a corner of the room.
2. Ask students to move to the corner that best represents their response.
3. Students discuss their thoughts with peers in the same corner.
4. Bring the class back together to share insights from each corner
