Snowballing
Snowballing helps students build on each other’s ideas and deepen their
understanding. It gradually involves the entire class, ensuring all voices are heard.
When to use:
Brainstorming
Problem solving
Debates and discussions
Steps:
1. Start with students in pairs to discuss or investigate the issue.
2. Pairs join with another pair to form a group of four and share their findings.
3. Groups of four join to form groups of eight, and so on, until the whole class comes together as one group.
